How DropSoumission works
A client describes their project. RBQ-licensed contractors in their region see it and get in touch. The client pays nothing; the contractor pays a subscription to access requests.
The posting
The client describes the work in a few screens. It's free, no credit card, and the request is online right away.
The opening
Requests don't trickle in through the day: they become unlockable at a fixed hour. Premium at 2 p.m., Regular at 5 p.m.
Three clicks, no more
At most 3 contractors can unlock the same request. At the third, it closes for everyone.

The contractor gets the contact details and the full description. Both talk in the messaging, then rate each other.

You register your RBQ licence
We check your number in the Régie du bâtiment public registry before activating your account. It keeps the platform clean for everyone.

You only see what concerns you: your trades, your territory. You get an email when a request matches your profile.

You first see a summary of the project. If it interests you, you unlock it and get the full description, photos, address and the client's contact details.

Not fifteen bidders on the same project. At the 3th contractor, the request closes. Your odds are real.

You bid, then you are rated
You contact the client directly, by phone or in the messaging. A month after a confirmed contract, you rate each other. Good ratings show up in the directory.
What it costs
$20 a month for the Regular plan — 2 unlocks per day, new requests open at 5 p.m. $50 for Premium — 6 unlocks per day, opening from 2 p.m. (a three-hour head start) and posting job offers. Plus taxes. Launch offer: 3 months free for the first 100 contractors, then 1 month free for every new signup. Cancel anytime during the trial, at no cost.
Requests open at a fixed time
No race to be first: every day, new requests become unlockable at the same hour. The Premium plan gets in three hours ahead of everyone else.

Quebec time. A request posted after its opening hour becomes unlockable right away; posted after 11 p.m., it waits for the next day.
What sets us apart
A maximum of 3 contractors per request
Elsewhere, a request can be resold to as many contractors as possible. Here it closes at the 3th. The client compares without being harassed, the contractor isn't fighting ten competitors.
Both sides rate each other
The contractor rates the client as much as the other way around. A rating stays hidden until both have answered — nobody can adjust theirs based on the one they received.
Nothing leaves before the unlock
Contact details, address and photos never leave our servers until a contractor unlocks. It isn't just hidden on screen: it isn't sent at all.

Built-in messaging
Client ↔ contractor, after an unlockEvery contractor who unlocks a request gets a private thread with the client. The other contractors on the same request cannot see it. Messages can neither be edited nor deleted, by anyone: if there is a disagreement about what was agreed, the history settles it. Either party can report an abusive conversation, and our team then reads it to decide.
Mutual ratings and directory
Client ↔ contractor, a month after a contractThirty days after a contractor confirms winning a contract, both parties are invited to rate each other. A rating stays hidden until the other has answered, or for seven days — nobody can adjust theirs in reaction. Ratings feed a searchable directory, with the company's presentation, years of experience and photos of past work.
Job board
Contractors hiring · workers lookingA contractor posts a job offer; a construction worker posts a profile with their trade and region. Both are free, and the board can be browsed without an account. Trades follow construction nomenclature — pipefitter, carpenter-joiner, ironworker — not the work categories used elsewhere on the site.
Posting a job offer is reserved for Premium subscribers. Posting a worker profile is free for everyone.
Subcontracting between contractors
Contractor ↔ contractor, RBQ licence required on both sidesA general contractor looking for a subcontracting company posts their need; other licensed contractors see it and contact them directly. No unlock, no fee, contact details visible right away — both parties are already RBQ-verified, nobody is shopping blind.
Reserved for contractors whose licence has been verified. This is not a public page: company contact details do not sit on the open web.
Supplier directory
Verified contractorsWhere to get supplies: hardware stores, materials, equipment rental, concrete, steel, containers. Filterable by type and region. We list what Google Maps doesn't say — who delivers to the site, who has a contractor desk, who opens early, who offers a commercial account, and the member discount where an agreement exists.
A supplier can request a listing free of charge. We review it before publishing.
AI cost estimate
Clients — coming soonAn estimate of what your project should cost, generated from your description and photos, for $10. Entirely optional: it sets neither the published price nor the category, and you remain in full control of what you post. It's a ballpark to orient yourself before receiving real quotes — never a firm price.
Quote generator — $10
Contractors — coming soonDescribe a job and the AI drafts a first version of the quote: work items, materials, exclusions, conditions. It works for a request received here as well as for any other job you landed elsewhere. You adjust your prices and send. $10 per generation, one at a time, no extra subscription — the amounts stay yours; the tool formats, it does not decide for you.
Neither tool is active yet. They will be announced when they are, and will remain optional: nobody has to use them to use the platform.
Frequently asked questions
Does it cost the client anything?
No. Posting a request, receiving quotes, talking to contractors: all free, always. The only paid item on the client side is the AI cost estimate, at $10, entirely optional.
Do I have to choose one of the contractors?
No. You commit to nothing. If no quote suits you, simply don't follow up.
Who checks the contractors?
We check the RBQ licence number in the public registry before activating an account. This check is one-time, done manually at signup — we do not monitor afterwards whether the licence remains valid. You can check it yourself anytime on the Régie du bâtiment website; it is public and free.
Is DropSoumission responsible for the work?
No. We connect people; we do not carry out any work. The contract is concluded directly between you and the contractor; we are not a party to it and take no commission on the work.
What do contractors see before paying?
A short summary you write yourself, the work category, your region and the number of photos attached. Nothing else: no full description, no address, no contact details, no photos.
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes. From your profile you can download all your data in a file, and request that your account be deleted. We answer within 30 days at most, as the law requires.
I'm looking for a construction job — what do I do?
Go to the job board and post your profile with your trade and region. It's free and takes a few minutes. Contractors looking for workers browse it.
I'm a contractor looking for a subcontractor, not an employee.
That's the subcontracting board, a separate section reserved for verified RBQ licences. You post your need and other contractors reach you directly. Free, no unlock.
I'm a supplier — how do I get listed?
Fill in the listing request form. The basic listing — name, address, phone, hours, region — is free permanently. Paid options exist to stand out, but nothing obliges you and we will discuss them separately.
Can I have both a client and a contractor account?
An account is one type or the other. If you are a contractor and also have work to be done at home, write to us and we'll sort it out.
